Spring 2019 TMA Newsletter

Times they are a changing.

Tim Moore Associates (TMA) has noticed significant job growth in the service sector, specifically with changes in healthcare as well as the food and beverage sectors. After a slower start to the new year, we've had an influx of new orders recently with two being from within the food sector, and inquiries for Supply Chain talent, from as far away as New York and the State of Florida - for their branch offices in Canada, needing savvy supply practitioners.

Canada's manufacturing sector expanded at the slowest pace in two and a half years, and the Canadian dollar gained in the first quarter, the best performance in the G10. The economy posted it's strongest gain in 14 months, however mixed messages about global factory activity in March and a slowing U.S. economy may point to gloomier times ahead.

"I'm fairly optimistic about the Canadian economy and our continuing to see increased demand for Procurement and Supply Chain professionals," adds Tim Moore, President of TMA. "Clients are using this time to expand their supply chain capabilities, strengthen their ability to drive further cost savings (and profitability), and implement best practices, to prepare for a potential economic correction in the future. They're doing this by investing in recruiting trained and qualified supply talent for their busy organizations."

Readers may have noticed fewer bulletins and job listings from TMA as we temporarily went off line to upgrade our own internal systems and our web presence as well – stay tuned for a new and improved website at www.timmooreassociates.com .

Tim has also expanded his roster of appointments on Supply Chain specific committees and educational Boards, and is an invited Speaker for the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA)'s National conference (it's 100th anniversary) in Montreal in May. Tim is part of an all star panel discussing the future of supply chain talent. He's following this engagement with a presentation to the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO), positioning Procurement as a Strategic Team Player in Halifax, in June.

Here are some of the new opportunities we're working on at TMA.

Tim.
