June’s PMAC National Conference
June 6, 2012Tim is all set and heading off to PMAC’s National Conference with Nancy Bridson, CSCMP (TMA Account Manager) in Moncton this week. “By the look of things, it’s shaping up to be a fine program,” Tim comments. Bill O’Donnell – Host Conference Committee Chair, his elite group in the organizing committee and a whole army of dedicated volunteers, are going to make Moncton hard to ‘top’ for conferences that follow (Ottawa next year). “Let’s not forget the National Office’s input and strong support as well,” adds Tim.
Tim was a little surprised after just speaking to the In Residence Week (IRW) SCMP students down at Ryerson University this year, to get a call from Cori Ferguson, Director, Public Affairs and Communications at the PMAC National Office. “They cancelled my conference session already scheduled, on the Trapping, Feeding, and Caring for Supply Chain Professionals!” exclaims Tim.
Instead, Cori and her crack team developed a supercharged “HR State of the Nation Summit,” moderated by Kevin Maynard, Executive Director of the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council. “It’s fantastic, with attendees being shown the traits that make a strong supply chain candidate, technological innovations that will help build a pipeline of new supply staff, the best ways to attract, recruit, and retain top supply professionals, AND the critical skills employers are seeking both today and tomorrow, for supply experts.
Tim will be one of the panel speakers. “It’s like FOUR action packed sessions in ONE!” adds Tim. “Great value and far better than my original plan.” This special session will help address and offer strategies to cope with the upcoming talent shortage, as Baby Boomers retire.
