Inside the Supply Chain and Purchasing Industry

Winds of change

April 8, 2011

We’re noticing a definite increase in business, and have six new Supply Chain opportunities. TMA continues to receive inquiries for solid Contract Specialists – with strong negotiations ability as the Canadian manufacturing base expands. Orders for Electronics and IT Supply professionals – and those with ‘hands on’ IT equipment knowledge AND software licensing continue to lead the way.

“The market is expanding rapidly and we’re educating our clients now, that we are soon going to be in a Supply talent crunch,” comments Tim Moore, President – Tim Moore Associates. “We’re noticing the speed of recruitment and placement picking up, and clients will soon not have the luxury of time to leisurely interview and decide on candidates. Supply professionals are starting to move again, and it will certainly have an impact on the amount of candidates available, and if you delay too much, counter offers, rejections, and (wait for it…) higher salary requirements will soon follow,” Moore adds.

Geographically, the West continues to add supply opportunities in the mining and chemical sectors (Saskatoon and Edmonton), and the manufacturing, electronics, and hi- tech ‘corridor’ between Toronto and Windsor is finally picking up with new orders from Kitchener/Cambridge/Guelph markets showing signs of renewal.
